Welcome to STUDO. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use our platform. STUDO is operated from Belgium and complies with the GDPR and Belgian privacy legislation.
By using STUDO, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. Don't agree? Then please don't use our services.
1. Who are we?
STUDO is a digital learning platform that helps students study more effectively. We are the data controller for your personal data.
2. What data do we collect?
2.1 Data you provide yourself
When creating an account or using STUDO you may share:
- Name or username
- Email address
- Password (securely hashed, never plain text)
- Profile info (optional)
- Study content you create (studosets, visualsets, notes)
- Feedback or support messages
2.2 Automatically collected data
While using STUDO we automatically collect:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device info
- Pages visited and features used
- Time and date of access
2.3 Data from third parties
Logging in via Google or Apple? Then we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as permitted by your settings. We do not have access to any other data from these services.

4. How do we store your data?
Your data is securely stored on servers in the EU. We use standard security measures:

- Access controls determining who can view your data
We take security seriously, but no system is 100% watertight. Use a strong, unique password for your STUDO account.

Delete your account? We'll erase your personal data within 30 days. Some anonymised data may be retained for analytics.
6. Do we share your data?
We do not sell your data. We only share in these situations:
- Service providers: Trusted partners who help us run STUDO (hosting, email), bound by strict data agreements
- Legal obligations: If required by law or court order, or to protect our rights
- With your consent: If you explicitly agree to sharing
All external processors we use are GDPR-compliant and located in the EU or countries with adequate protection.
7. Cookies
STUDO uses cookies to keep you logged in and remember preferences. We use:

- Portability: Receive your data in an exportable format
- Object: Object to certain processing (e.g. marketing)

9. Children's privacy
STUDO is intended for users aged 16+. Younger? Then you need permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 without parental consent.
If we discover we have collected data from someone under 16 without proper consent, we will delete it immediately. Parents can contact us at support@studo.study.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes we'll let you know via email or an in-app notification. Check the "Last updated" date at the top.
Continuing to use STUDO after changes = agreement with the new policy.
